Background

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions builds technology that is used every day in hotels around the world, 24/7. Our systems control access to guest rooms, common areas and critical infrastructure – and they must work every time.

We are now looking for an experienced Android developer who wants to join and develop our mobile service tools for Visionline and Vostio. It is an app that technicians use in real hotel installations to install, configure and troubleshoot the access system. It is production software in sharp environments where stability, safety and precision are crucial.

The Role

You work in a dedicated app team and collaborate closely with firmware developers, backend developers, product owners and UX designers.

In total, around 60 colleagues contribute to these products, of which 3-4 work solely with Android development. Your work directly affects how efficiently and safely our system is rolled out and maintained worldwide.

We are a team of senior developers who maintain a high technical level and who have high expectations of each other. We help each other, share knowledge and take it easy on the road - but we never skimp on quality.

What you will be working with
  • Develop and further develop Android applications in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and modern Android architecture.

  • Build workflows optimized for technicians in the field, with a focus on robustness and usability.

  •  Design offline-first functionality and resilient fault handling for real environments.

  •  Collaborate closely across borders between mobile, backend, firmware and product.

  • Write clean, testable and maintainable code - and contribute to automated testing and CI/CD.

Then We Work

With us, modern AI tools are an obvious part of how we build software – not something we bring up occasionally, but a fundamental building block in everyday life.

We use them to keep a high pace in development, testing, troubleshooting and documentation, and to free up time for things that actually require human judgement.

It makes demands. You need to be experienced enough to see when a tool is going the wrong way, examine what is generated critically and steer it in the right direction.

Imagine a skilled colleague with whom you work in symbiosis: you delegate, question, validate and take responsibility for the end result. Those who just stick in the first suggestion without understanding it will not thrive here - but those who use the tool wisely will get a lot done together with us.

Skills: Who you are and Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in modern Android development, with proven ability to manage and deliver functions from start to finish.

  • Stark Kotlin and experience with Jetpack Compose and Jetpack library.

  • Good understanding of coroutines, Flow and asynchronous programming.

  • Experience in architectural patterns such as MVI or MVVM.

  • Experience in automated testing (unit, UI, integration).

  • Used to using AI tools on a daily basis in development work – you write clear, structured instructions, examine what is generated critically and notice when the logic or security does not hold.

  • You also know when AI is the wrong tool and human judgment is needed.

  • Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing. Swedish is a requirement as both the team and many of our internal documents are in Swedish; English is needed in our global work.

  •  Ability to take ownership and collaborate over technical areas.

Honors

  • Experience of Bluetooth/BLE, NFC, Zigbee, Thread or Matter.

  • Experience building secure or offline-capable applications.

  • Kotlin Multiplatform, backend/API design or CI/CD pipelines.

  • Low level communication (USB, protocol handling).

  • Knowledge of cryptography (eg AES, encryption/decryption).

Place and working methods

The role is based in Landskrona. We strongly believe in the value of being seen on site – the entire team is at the office in Landskrona three to five days a week to build relationships and gain a deep understanding of the product.

We offer hybrid flexibility, but the emphasis is on the office, and we would like you to live in or near Landskrona. There is also access to our office in Malmö if needed.

Why us

Work with an operational critical system that is used globally in real hotel environments.

Contribute to system-related engineering work that spans mobile, hardware and backend.

Was part of a long-term product organization with stable and mature solutions.

Influence architecture and technical direction with real ownership.

This is a 'try and hire' opportunity. You would start as a contractor for a defined period, with the possibility of converting to full-time employment.
